The Caribbean island of Cordova seemed like a paradise to Sarah, who had spent all her life in a convent and was on her way to becoming governess to the nephew and nieces of her employer, Jason de Cordova. She was quickly disillusioned, when Jason's wife, the strange, unstable Irena, tried to provoke her: and disturbed too, when she realised her own feelings for the scarred, arrogant man who was her employer.
