Hard Time

Murray Ryerson, who has a track record of digging beneath the surface of the city's news to get at the truth, goes back a long way with detective V.I. Warshawski. Their friendship is sorely tested when he sells his skills to a mega entertainment conglomerate, with the brief to provide good gossip. At first VI. is too wrapped up with her own troubles to care. Hard Time is V.I.'s greatest challenge yet. She stands alone against some fearsome opponents: the police, the prison system, a global entertainment corporation and even an old frined.
