When her stepfather is arrested, aspiring artist Ceci moves to her mother's hometown of Santa Aguas, a town steeped in the legend of La Cegua, a specter of a wronged witch who appears on lonely roads at night. Ceci and her mother settle in the abandoned Sevilla manor, rumored to be cursed by La Cegua. As Ceci uncovers her family's past, she forms a strange affinity with La Cegua, suspecting the spirit inspires her paintings of a mysterious forest door. When the door appears in the woods, Ceci and her friend Jamie discover a well for granting wishes—La Cegua's well.
